Job Description

Join Raytheon as a Mechanical Analysis Section Leader in Tucson, AZ, where you will lead a talented team of engineers in delivering high-quality mechanical analysis and support across various programs. You will play a critical role in ensuring the success of engineering initiatives and contribute to a safer world through advanced technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 15-20 engineers
  • Provide technical development, mentoring, and performance management
  • Ensure accuracy of technical output and decision-making
  • Support department and engineering initiatives
  • Coordinate staffing needs and optimize resource utilization
  • Perform individual contributor workload
  • Resolve technical problems related to materials and processes
  • Provide technical oversight throughout product life cycle

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience (or 14+ years without a degree)
  • Experience with materials and process design, development, and/or production support for military programs
  • Experience in cross-functional teams
  • Experience in testing methods for physical properties of materials
  • Experience in failure analysis of mechanical assemblies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten years of experience in materials problem solving or evaluation/validation of material properties
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplined projects
  • Direct experience in aerospace industry materials support
  • Advanced degree in related disciplines
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering
  • Knowledge of data analysis and computational techniques
  • Strong communication and planning skills
  • Ability to write technical reports
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, Creo and/or Python
  • Proficiency in MS Office
