Job Description
Join Raytheon's Naval Powers System Safety team as a Senior Systems Safety Engineer in Tucson, AZ. You'll lead safety programs, collaborate with teams to mitigate hazards, and ensure compliance with military safety standards, all while contributing to national defense.
Key Responsibilities
Leading MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs
Performing MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses
Coordinating with customer safety representatives for safety approval
Working with integrated product teams to eliminate hazards or provide effective controls
Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews
Preparing internal and customer reports related to System Safety program
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
Minimum 5 years of relevant Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering experience
Experience with System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
U.S. citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in command and control systems and/or weapon combat systems
Experience with DoD System Safety Programs
Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development
Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal and project management skills
