Job Description
Join Uncommon Schools as a High School Science Teacher, where you'll inspire students to engage critically in science through inquiry-based learning. Collaborate across a network of educators while developing innovative teaching strategies that prepare students for college-level coursework and careers in STEM fields.
Key Responsibilities
Teach a curriculum including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Sciences
Develop students’ skills in scientific questioning and analysis
Facilitate student-led discourse and inquiry
Meet weekly to analyze student work and adjust instruction
Build positive relationships with students and families
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools
Academic expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
NJ state certification eligibility requirements
Preferred Qualifications
1-2 years experience in urban education
Commitment to supporting students’ social emotional and academic development
Enthusiasm for collaboration with internal and external partners
