The Senior Director of Behavior at the ASPCA leads the behavioral care for ARC and CARE animals, ensuring their health and welfare through an integrated, holistic approach. This role involves managing a team of behavior experts, overseeing treatment plans, and facilitating innovative research projects to advance animal welfare practices.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for animals
Ensure high-quality, low-stress patient and population care
Develop and oversee behavioral diagnosis and treatment plans
Manage and coach a team of behavior experts
Lead research projects related to animal behavior and welfare
Required Qualifications
3+ years’ experience in people management
Ability to work well within a team
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Comfort with humane euthanasia decisions and procedures
Fear Free certified within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing/overseeing research projects
Experience writing scientific publications for peer-reviewed journals
