Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian and make a significant impact in underserved communities by providing exceptional veterinary care. Support a dedicated team while delivering high-quality services and mentorship, ensuring every pet receives the care they deserve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the ASPCA’s CVC
  • Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
  • Support a positive work culture of respect, belonging and teamwork
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality spay/neuter procedures
  • Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients
  • Schedule CM staff veterinarians and per diems for optimal coverage

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (or equivalent) from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
