Job Description

Join Cargill as a Plant Electrician and contribute to a sustainable future by ensuring the operational integrity of electrical systems. You'll work in a dynamic environment, maintaining and installing high-quality equipment to support the protein and salt business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in design of electrical projects and install electrical equipment
  • Coordinate with other workers in installing and maintaining equipment
  • Consult with operators and engineers on equipment layout and troubleshooting
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
  • Inspect components for defects and ensure safety compliance
  • Repair and install equipment and machinery
  • Maintain equipment logs and respond to breakdowns
  • Work extended shifts and adapt to changing priorities
  • Follow safety rules and regulations

Required Qualifications

  • Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • 18 years or older
  • Ability to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures
  • Ability to operate machinery
  • Read/write English
  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts
  • Experience in electrical maintenance trade
  • Experience with blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to work in elevated areas
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude
  • Time management skills
  • Install conduit and pull wire
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Adequate transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with wiring and programming Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Experience using electrical test equipment
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code
  • Mechanical aptitude to work from various blueprints and manuals
  • Apprentice, Journeyman or above license with the state of Nebraska
  • A 2-year degree in electromechanical or electrical systems
