This role is for a Registered Nurse working night shifts in a newly established 26-bed Surgical Observation Unit providing pre- and post-operative care for complex surgical patients. The RN manages care for short-stay patients recovering from various surgical procedures and medical diagnoses alongside top surgeons. The position requires current Oklahoma RN licensure, BLS and ACLS/PALS certification, and preferable Med/Surg experience, with strong emphasis on compassionate and professional care.
5CD Surgical Observation Unit
Shifts available: Nights Full Time
Newly Established Unit
This new 26-bed unit serves short-stay patients in the observation, extended recovery and discharge-decision process immediately after surgery, as well as those who require a longer recovery time. Only experienced RNs will work on this unit, in 12-hour shifts, alongside Oklahoma’s top surgeons while managing the pre- and post-op care of complex disease processes.
Here you will encounter drains, wound vacs, and NGTs as patients recover from procedures such as colon resections, urological procedures, hysterectomies, jaw reconstructions, hernias, cholecystectomies, bariatrics, thyroidectomies and appendectomies. We also have Med/Surg overflow so you will likely care for patients with medical diagnoses such as UTI, diabetes, ileus, small bowel obstruction, or infectious processes.
Qualifications:
Licensure: Current Oklahoma License.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS/PALS required and can be obtained/recertified during orientation. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
Preferred Education: BSN
Preferred Experience: Minimum 1 year Med Surg experience
