Job Description

Join Amazon Web Services as an Engineering Operations Technician and be part of a diverse team that maintains and operates critical data center facilities. You'll tackle challenging problems while ensuring safety and security, all within an inclusive culture that values innovation and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center
  • Troubleshoot facility equipment and rack-level events within internal SLAs
  • Perform limited maintenance tasks including filter changes and rack power installs
  • Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
  • Write procedures
  • Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventory
  • Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance
  • Respond to off hour emergency calls
  • Comply with all physical security procedures and policies

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of maintenance and repair experience on mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Experience operating electrical and mechanical systems in a mission critical environment
  • Familiar with building management systems (BMS/EPMS)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of data center engineering experience
  • Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
  • 4+ years of Data Center Engineering Experience
  • Familiar with BMS and EPMS control systems
  • Operating engineering license(s) such as DC II, DC III, Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License, CFC license (Universal or minimum Type II), NFPA 70E Certification
