Job Title: Registered Nurse- Emergency Room
Location: Wrangell, AK 99929
Shift: Night shift but may need to cover days
Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks

 

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced RN-ER with 2+ years of acute care experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in delivering immediate and critical nursing care to patients with urgent, acute, and life-threatening conditions. Responsibilities include rapid assessment, triage, stabilization, and treatment, while collaborating closely with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality emergency care.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform rapid assessment, triage, and prioritize patient care based on acuity.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions as required.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and respond quickly to critical changes.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
  • Educate patients and families while ensuring accurate documentation of care provided.

 

Skills:

  • Strong triage and rapid assessment skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving under pressure
  • Proficiency in emergency procedures (CPR, ACLS, trauma care)
  • Medication administration and IV therapy management
  • Ability to work in high-stress, fast-paced environments
  • Collaboration and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
  • Patient and family communication and education
  • Accurate documentation and electronic health record (EHR) use
  • Adaptability to diverse and unpredictable situations
  • Compassionate care with cultural sensitivity

Documents Required:

  • Valid AK State RN license
  • PALS Certified through AHA
  • ACLS Certified through AHA
  • BLS Certified through AHA
