Key Responsibilities
Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations
Facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel
Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances
Determining the admissibility of individuals for entry into the U.S.
Preventing illegal entry of individuals and contraband
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship
Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years
Must be referred before your 40th birthday (some exceptions apply)
Experience equivalent to GS-8 level in law enforcement
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or higher, or an LL.B. or J.D.
Graduate-level education combined with specialized experience
Spanish language proficiency for certain locations
