Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian and lead a dedicated team in providing veterinary care to underserved communities. Support the well-being of pets and their owners while fostering a positive work environment and delivering high-quality medical care.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s CVC
Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture through regular 1:1s and performance evaluations
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-volume surgical procedures
Provide compassionate preventive and basic care to patients
Schedule CM staff veterinarians for optimal coverage
Participate in monthly CM Veterinary Medicine Rounds
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (or equivalent) from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Previous people management experience strongly preferred
