Job Function:
Perform MRI procedures under the direction of a radiologist, exercising independent judgment and technical skill.
Ensure patient care and safety during imaging procedures, minimizing risks such as electric shock, burns, and radiation exposure.
Determine appropriate anatomical positioning and apply patient shielding as required.
Assess patient pain or discomfort during imaging and contact physicians for appropriate intervention.
Take call according to the department’s monthly schedule.
Perform and document all prescribed quality control checks; maintain accurate QC logs and service records.
Job Requirements:
Current New York State Radiologic Technology license and registration, including permit for injections.
Registered or eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); advanced certification preferred.
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
Minimum of 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist; 2 years preferred.
