Job Overview:

An Obstetrics (OB), Postpartum, or Labor & Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse provides specialized care to women throughout the childbirth process, from pregnancy through delivery and recovery. They support patients during labor, monitor fetal and maternal health, assist physicians or midwives during delivery, and provide postpartum care to mothers and newborns. These nurses play a critical role in ensuring safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care for both mother and baby.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
• Monitor maternal and fetal health, administer medications, manage pain, and respond to obstetric emergencies.
• Assist physicians and midwives during vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and immediate newborn care.
• Educate and support patients and families on breastfeeding, newborn care, postpartum recovery, and safe practices.
• Promote maternal-infant bonding while ensuring physical, emotional, and educational support for families.

Required Qualifications:

• WI RN License or Compact License
• 2 years experience in the specialty
• BLS (AHA)
• NRP Certification
