Key Responsibilities
Detecting and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers
Maintaining surveillance from covert positions
Responding to electronic sensor alarms
Performing farm and ranch checks, traffic checks, and city patrols
Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship
Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years
Ability to complete training at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy
Ability to speak and read Spanish
Preferred Qualifications
Current or prior law enforcement experience
Bachelor's degree in related field
Military law enforcement experience
