Job Description
Join Spectrum Center Schools as an Area Speech Language Pathologist and make a meaningful impact on students' lives through tailored speech therapy services. Collaborate with educators and families to foster communication development in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluating students to identify speech-language therapy needs
Developing and implementing individualized speech therapy plans
Setting collaborative, student-centered goals
Monitoring student progress and adjusting therapy plans
Providing direct speech and language therapy
Documenting therapy sessions and clinical observations
Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date case records
Fostering open communication with families
Collaborating with teachers and service providers
Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and conferences
Providing clinical support and expertise to program teams
Mentoring educators and staff
Conducting client intakes and assessments
Overseeing quality and consistency of speech therapy services
Maintaining clinical excellence through supervision and staff development
Building trust and rapport with clients and families
Engaging in continuous professional development
Traveling between assigned school locations
Performing additional responsibilities as requested
Required Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or a closely related field of study
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a speech language pathology (SLP) credential
Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid CA state driver’s license
Prior experience in providing speech language therapy support, preferably in an educational and/or behavioral health program setting
Prior experience in special education services and compliance
Proven success in developing and implementing effective treatment plans for students with diverse needs
Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students
Highly skilled in building relationships with students, parents, teachers and community partners
Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability
Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment
