Job Description

Join Spectrum Center Schools as an Area Speech Language Pathologist and make a meaningful impact on students' lives through tailored speech therapy services. Collaborate with educators and families to foster communication development in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluating students to identify speech-language therapy needs
  • Developing and implementing individualized speech therapy plans
  • Setting collaborative, student-centered goals
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting therapy plans
  • Providing direct speech and language therapy
  • Documenting therapy sessions and clinical observations
  • Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date case records
  • Fostering open communication with families
  • Collaborating with teachers and service providers
  • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and conferences
  • Providing clinical support and expertise to program teams
  • Mentoring educators and staff
  • Conducting client intakes and assessments
  • Overseeing quality and consistency of speech therapy services
  • Maintaining clinical excellence through supervision and staff development
  • Building trust and rapport with clients and families
  • Engaging in continuous professional development
  • Traveling between assigned school locations
  • Performing additional responsibilities as requested

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or a closely related field of study
  • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a speech language pathology (SLP) credential
  • Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid CA state driver’s license
  • Prior experience in providing speech language therapy support, preferably in an educational and/or behavioral health program setting
  • Prior experience in special education services and compliance
  • Proven success in developing and implementing effective treatment plans for students with diverse needs
  • Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students
  • Highly skilled in building relationships with students, parents, teachers and community partners
  • Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability
  • Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment
