Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to support patient care in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities include patient intake, assisting with procedures, and ensuring compliance with health standards, all while providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from the exam room and complete patient intake
Clean and straighten exam room between patients
Prepare syringes and administer injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare pathology and lab specimens for routing
Respond to patient questions in office and via phone
Schedule or re-schedule appointments as necessary
Comply with OSHA and HIPAA standards
Maintain medication samples and discard out-of-date supplies
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with check-in or check-out procedures as needed
Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
At least one (1) year of medical assisting experience (preferred)
Completion of a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant program
Professionalism and strong customer service skills
Ability to communicate with doctors and patients clearly and concisely
Ability to lift at least 15 pounds
Ability to stand for prolonged periods
