Hospice CNA Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on personal care
- Perform simple procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services
- Assist with ambulation or exercises according to the plan of care
- Assist with administering medications ordinarily self-administered
- Record pertinent information pertaining to the client’s care and strict adherence to the HHA care plan that is on the client’s chart
- Provide hands-on personal care including: Baths, oral hygiene, shampoos, assisting with/changing bed linens, assisting patients with dressing/undressing, skin care to prevent breakdown, assisting patients with toileting activities, and keeping patient’s living area clean and orderly, as appropriate
- Plan and prepare light meals/snacks according to specific dietary requirements of the client, and if necessary, feed the client
- Perform range of motion exercises and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)
Hospice CNA Qualifications:
- CNA certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 3-5 years of hospice experience required.
