Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to enhance patient care through scheduling, insurance verification, and customer service. You'll play a vital role in improving health outcomes and connecting patients with essential resources.
Key Responsibilities
Prepares weekly reports for management regarding patient information
Coordinates initial patient contact and verifies eligibility
Prepares and mails out new patient packets
Initiates Comfort Care appointments and troubleshoots issues
Reviews and tracks patient scheduling and follow-up visits
Provides customer service to patients in person and via phone
Inputs and updates patient demographic information
Serves as a team lead as needed
Performs all other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
3+ years of experience working in a medical office
Intermediate level of proficiency in PC software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to commute 25% of the time
Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
Planning, organizing, conflict resolution, negotiating and interpersonal skills
Independent problem identification/resolution and decision-making skills
Ability to prioritize, plan, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bilingual in English & Spanish
