Job Description

Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to enhance patient care through scheduling, insurance verification, and customer service. You'll play a vital role in improving health outcomes and connecting patients with essential resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares weekly reports for management regarding patient information
  • Coordinates initial patient contact and verifies eligibility
  • Prepares and mails out new patient packets
  • Initiates Comfort Care appointments and troubleshoots issues
  • Reviews and tracks patient scheduling and follow-up visits
  • Provides customer service to patients in person and via phone
  • Inputs and updates patient demographic information
  • Serves as a team lead as needed
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 3+ years of experience working in a medical office
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in PC software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to commute 25% of the time
  • Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Planning, organizing, conflict resolution, negotiating and interpersonal skills
  • Independent problem identification/resolution and decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish
