Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian where you will lead a dedicated team in providing essential veterinary care to underserved communities. Your role will involve not only overseeing medical practices but also mentoring new veterinarians, ensuring high-quality patient care, and making a significant impact on animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the clinic
Train veterinarians in high-quality spay/neuter techniques
Support a positive work culture of respect and teamwork
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and surgeries
Provide compassionate veterinary care to underserved areas
Triage and refer cases outside of community medicine parameters
Schedule staff veterinarians for optimal coverage
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Fear FreeĀ® Shelter certification within 60 days of hire
