Job Description
Join Optum as a Practice Assistant and be part of a dedicated team that makes a difference in healthcare. This role involves supporting patients and the care team by providing excellent customer service, ensuring compliance with healthcare protocols, and contributing to the financial, clinical, and service goals of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous manner
Obtain accurate and updated patient information
Perform insurance verification on the date of service
File and maintain medical records
Confirm and schedule appointments
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA requirements
Provide effective communication to patient/family team members
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
Intermediate level of computer proficiency (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word)
Ability to work Monday through Friday 11:30 am to 8:00 pm EST
Ability to travel to other offices if needed
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of experience in a medical front office position
Experience working with an electronic health record
Knowledge of medical terms
