Job Description
The Managing Director will play a crucial role in supporting the Brookings Institution's mission by overseeing a $20M policy research program, managing finances, and leading operational strategies. This leadership position requires strategic vision and the ability to foster collaboration across diverse teams, ensuring the program's success and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a strategic partner to the Vice President and Director
Oversee program's finance, administrative, and personnel functions
Lead change management efforts
Translate strategic goals into operational plans
Provide leadership and coaching to finance team
Ensure compliance with internal policies for financial transactions
Develop operational plans consistent with budgetary goals
Manage staffing and HR efforts within the program
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 10 years of senior management experience
Experience in finance, operations, and human resources
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-million dollar budgets
Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze financial data
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree preferred
Public policy, economics, or business background
Experience with communications and/or development functions
