Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Hummelstown, PA 17036 (Pennsylvania nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Unit
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours each
• Hours per Week: 36
• Start Date: October 27, 2025
• Openings: 5 Med/Surg RN positions
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1620 - $1740
• Special Note: Holiday coverage required, especially Christmas

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Pennsylvania RN license preferred)
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) required prior to first shift
• ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required prior to first shift
• Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience (2 years Med/Surg RN experience highly desired)
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning
• Communicate changes in patient status to healthcare team members to ensure continuity and patient safety
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing staff and clinical support personnel
• Promote a safe environment by adhering to hospital safety policies and procedures
• Contribute to team building and a positive work environment
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education for Med/Surg nurses
