Job Responsibilities include:
- Performing bridge design, rehabilitation, and load rating projects, mentoring junior staff, and providing technical oversight.
- Overseeing multiple projects and/or tasks, including design and inspections across the Mid-Atlantic, focusing on Delaware and surrounding states.
- Mentoring staff on performance and progress.
- Interacting with clients on technical challenges and potential project management opportunities.
- Developing proposals with scopes of work and man-hour estimates; some travel may be required.
- Creating reports, specifications, and technical documents.
Required attributes include:
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, BIM, Microstation, OBU, In-Roads, GeoPak.
- Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (Structural focus); MS preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience.
- PE license.
- Designing bridge structures and addressing challenges in design and rehabilitation.
- Experience with MicroStation, Open Bridge Modeler, and knowledge of AASHTO and state DOT design criteria, especially with DelDOT, MDSHA, VDOT, DCDOT, PennDOT projects.
- Strong communication skills and experience with structural analysis software such as SAP, STAAD, LEAP Bridge, etc.
- Leadership qualities to guide projects and mentor engineers.
- High-quality technical writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments within a team environment.
Preferred attributes include:
- Master's in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
- Certifications like FHWA-NHI-13005 or FHWA-NHI-130078.
- Experience in proposal development, scope, and man-hour estimation.
- Prior load rating and BrIM/BIM modeling experience.
- Participation in professional societies is encouraged.
