Key Responsibilities
Explain Mammography procedure to the patient and/or family member in a thorough and professional manner.
Perform Mammography procedures ensuring appropriate imaging parameters are utilized.
Enter and retrieve patient information from the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) and Hospital Information System (HIS).
Provide minimal nursing care to patients, ensuring comfort.
Transport patients to and from Imaging Services safely.
Order supplies for the division.
Prepare and maintain department paperwork accurately.
Ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies.
Schedule patient examinations according to departmental procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of Mammography procedure rooms.
Assist in the Quality Assurance / Improvement Program of Imaging Services.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an Accredited Program of Radiology Technology
Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT)
Registered radiologic technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) for Radiography (R) and for Mammography (M)
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
