POSITION SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, trouble-shooting, repairing, and general maintenance of mechanical systems of plant/production machinery.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
- Follow all safety and Company policies and procedures including maintaining good housekeeping, reporting any issues, accidents, or incidents immediately. Must complete online safety training each month as assigned.
- Complete regular inspection of equipment to help identify mechanical/electrical issues or concerns and disassemble, repair, replace bearings, seals, gears, etc. as needed.
- Complete all paperwork neatly, correctly, and in accordance with Company guidelines.
- Analyze, trouble-shoot, and repair mechanical problems of plant machinery using precision maintenance techniques. Follow up with work orders to ensure the problem is repaired properly.
- Perform maintenance function and troubleshoot to correct inefficiencies and prevent equipment downtime by completing regular PMs.
- Work within specifications and drawings, responsible for ensuring completion, minimizing waste within set dates and times.
- Ensure the maintenance and preventive maintenance of corrugating plant process equipment to achieve results, ensure all equipment is running properly and meets operational requirement.
- Work with maintenance crew to carry out maintenance and repair projects in mechanical, fabrication, plumbing, and welding functions.
- Comply with Company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including federal and/or state required environmental systems, OSHA safety and health rules, fire and electrical safety codes and manuals, and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization including management, employees, and vendors.
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, computers in an industrial environment including hardware, software configuration and troubleshooting, network configuration and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read schematics and trouble-shoot various pneumatic, hydraulic systems, PLCs, and motors.
- Strong maintenance, plumbing, electrical background (manufacturing preferred) in AC/DC motor control, troubleshooting, and electrical wiring codes.
- Ability to maintain a well-organized, clean work environment.
- Ability to maintain good attendance Must be able to work flexible hours and/or extended hours if needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Minimum 2 years of related experience and/or training.
- Previous or current electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Excellent people skills and communication, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic with emphasis on safety.
- Technical degree or related experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Corrugated experience.
- Electrical License or Journeyman Electrical License.
