Med-Surg Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position
Location: Aurora, CO
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hrs/Nights
Pay: $2173/week
Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical-Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. The Med-Surg Oncology RN will manage the care of patients with various types of cancer, addressing both their medical and surgical needs. This role involves administering chemotherapy, managing symptoms, providing post-operative care, and offering crucial emotional support to patients and their families. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and possesses a strong understanding of oncology care protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and monitor chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other cancer-related treatments.
Assess and manage patient symptoms, including pain, nausea, and fatigue.
Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical oncology patients.
Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
Collaborate with oncologists, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary team to create and implement comprehensive care plans.
Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting any changes or adverse reactions promptly.
Adhere to all safety protocols, including those related to handling hazardous medications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate of Science in Nursing
Registered Nurse (Colorado)
Basic Life Support
