Key Responsibilities
Provides basic nursing care and assists in resident assessments
Communicates significant changes in condition to the interdisciplinary team
Documents all assessments and interventions accurately and timely
Participates in the care planning process and updates care plans as necessary
Implements nursing interventions relevant to the care plan
Monitors residents' care and identifies problem areas
Maintains composure during crisis situations
Completes continuing education related to nursing practices
Required Qualifications
Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
Current LPN license in the state of employment
CPR and AED certification required or willing to obtain within six months
IV certification required or willing to obtain within six months
Ability to assess the basic nursing care needs of the geriatric resident
Excellent communication skills
Time management and organizational skills
Ability to stand and walk for long periods
Ability to lift heavy objects using proper techniques
Ability to transfer and move patients weighing 200+ lbs
Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40 lbs
Manual dexterity and coordination
Visual acuity to distinguish color
Ability to perform necessary documentation electronically and in writing
