Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Calibrate machines and maintain records of calibration
  • Explain scan procedure to patients
  • Maintain equipment and supplies according to departmental guidelines
  • Maintain standards of professional care
  • Maintain patient information and test files/databases
  • Prepare bone densitometry equipment for tests
  • Interview patients to confirm/obtain history
  • Properly position patients for scanning
  • Enter clinical data into computerized databases
  • Use ALARA technique for x-rays to avoid overexposure
  • Analyze/review complete scans for requisite information
  • Document positions or analysis problems for physicians
  • Assist physicians as needed
  • Enter and maintain medical history and coding using EMR
  • Prepare examination rooms and take patient vital signs
  • Assist the Practice Physician during examinations
  • Sterilize and prepare medical instruments

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
  • Licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Bureau of X-ray Compliance
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

  • Radiology Tech experience
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
