Job Description

As an Intensive Outpatient Counselor at Kaiser, you'll provide vital counseling, engagement, and case management services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting members through their recovery journey, delivering high-quality clinical services while maintaining best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services (individual, group, and family) to members with substance use disorders
  • Document member care in the electronic medical record
  • Provide case management and coordinate care with other providers and agencies
  • Participate in program development and process improvement activities

Required Qualifications

  • Masters level degree in counseling, social work, or closely related field
  • Minimum one year working in a substance use disorder treatment setting
  • Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee Certification or equivalent license required at hire
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of post-masters experience in substance use disorder treatment
  • Experience working in an integrated healthcare setting
  • Experience or specialized training in treating adolescents
  • Experience in family therapy
  • Experience in treating trauma
  • Experience with Motivational Interviewing techniques
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary treatment teams
  • Experience with electronic health record systems
