Shift: Days, 6:45A – 3:15P
Weekend Requirements: 1 weekend per 4-week schedule
On Call Requirements: 1 night call per week, 1 weekend per 4-week schedule

Position Overview

We are seeking a Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to provide support in the Operating Room. The CST assists surgeons by preparing and maintaining the sterile field, ensuring all instruments and equipment are available and functioning, and anticipating surgical needs. The CST plays a critical role in patient safety, proper instrument tracking, and efficient OR workflow.

Responsibilities

• Surgical Knowledge & Preparation (30%) – Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures, verifies items on the physician preference card, and ensures accurate patient billing for supplies.

• Equipment & Instrument Management (30%) – Assembles and operates OR equipment, ensures disposables and instruments are ready and functional for each procedure.

• Sterile Field Maintenance (30%) – Maintains sterile environments, monitors for breaks in technique, and ensures all sterile protocols are followed.

• Setup & Accountability (10%) – Sets up the sterile field in a timely manner, accurately accounts for medications, sponges, sharps, and instruments according to policy.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience – Required

• Experience in Ortho, Sports Medicine, OB/GYN, Ophthalmic, and Urology – Required

• Proficient with C-Sections

• Travel experience – Highly preferred

• Certifications: NBSTSA, BLS (AHA) – Required
