Key Responsibilities
Facilitate student-led discourse of historical topics
Guide students in understanding authors' claims and developing argumentation skills
Teach a curriculum that prioritizes diverse histories
Build an inclusive and safe classroom environment
Meet weekly with principal to analyze student work and assessments
Develop positive relationships with students and families
Participate in professional development and school-wide meetings
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities
Academic expertise in Education, History, Geography, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, or the Humanities
Preferred Qualifications
1-2 years of experience in K-12 education
Ability to meet NJ state certification eligibility requirements
