Job Description
The Wastewater Supervisor oversees water and wastewater treatment operations, ensuring compliance with regulations while leading and developing a team. This role involves managing daily operations, optimizing processes, and collaborating with local authorities to enhance efficiency and sustainability in wastewater management.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the water treatment, wastewater treatment, and offal and feather screen area
Train and develop department operators for maximum performance
Manage daily sampling protocol to satisfy regulatory compliance
Compile various water and wastewater reports for regulatory compliance
Act as a liaison with the City of Arcadia’s Water/Wastewater Department
Develop and implement departmental goals and budget
Research and develop cost-efficient standards
Maintain equipment within the department
Oversee scheduling and loading of bi-product trailers
Monitor water usage and waste optimization
Certify fork-lift operators
Assist in environmental audits and continuous improvement projects
Required Qualifications
Post secondary education with courses in water/wastewater, biology, chemistry, or related subject material and 1-3 years of experience in water and wastewater systems, or more than 3 years of experience if no post secondary education
Willing to obtain a pre-treatment wastewater operator’s license within one year
Fork-lift trainer certification or willing to obtain within one year
Good organizational and prioritization skills
Computer experience in Microsoft programs
Preferred Qualifications
Poultry processing experience
Experience in driving a tractor/trailer; willingness to obtain a CDL within 6 months of employment
Considerable skills and experience in leading and developing people
