Job Description

The Wastewater Supervisor oversees water and wastewater treatment operations, ensuring compliance with regulations while leading and developing a team. This role involves managing daily operations, optimizing processes, and collaborating with local authorities to enhance efficiency and sustainability in wastewater management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the water treatment, wastewater treatment, and offal and feather screen area
  • Train and develop department operators for maximum performance
  • Manage daily sampling protocol to satisfy regulatory compliance
  • Compile various water and wastewater reports for regulatory compliance
  • Act as a liaison with the City of Arcadia’s Water/Wastewater Department
  • Develop and implement departmental goals and budget
  • Research and develop cost-efficient standards
  • Maintain equipment within the department
  • Oversee scheduling and loading of bi-product trailers
  • Monitor water usage and waste optimization
  • Certify fork-lift operators
  • Assist in environmental audits and continuous improvement projects

Required Qualifications

  • Post secondary education with courses in water/wastewater, biology, chemistry, or related subject material and 1-3 years of experience in water and wastewater systems, or more than 3 years of experience if no post secondary education
  • Willing to obtain a pre-treatment wastewater operator’s license within one year
  • Fork-lift trainer certification or willing to obtain within one year
  • Good organizational and prioritization skills
  • Computer experience in Microsoft programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Poultry processing experience
  • Experience in driving a tractor/trailer; willingness to obtain a CDL within 6 months of employment
  • Considerable skills and experience in leading and developing people
