Job Description

Join Albany Medical Center as a Clinical Nurse II in Labor and Delivery, where you will provide compassionate care to patients and families. You will play a vital role in implementing treatment plans, assessing patient needs, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments and procedures
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests
  • Assesses and evaluates patient needs and responses to care
  • Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management
  • Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses
  • Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree)
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse license
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Knowledge of quality concepts and principles
