Job Description

The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the agency's real estate portfolio in NYC, ensuring efficient property operations. This role involves managing teams, coordinating with external contractors, and driving accountability through effective performance metrics. A dynamic leader will thrive in this hybrid position, balancing strategic planning with hands-on management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for agency properties across five NYC boroughs
  • Manage and mentor area managers and handyman teams
  • Monitor and ensure timely responses to maintenance tickets
  • Collaborate with contractors for complex maintenance issues
  • Ensure adherence to life safety standards and regulatory compliance
  • Develop performance metrics for operational effectiveness

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years working as a tradesperson, preferably in mechanical, plumbing, or electrical fields
  • 5 years managerial experience overseeing teams or operations
  • Experience with technical building systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hybrid role experience with field and office responsibilities
  • Familiarity with life safety systems and contract management
  • Ability to develop and analyze performance metrics
  • Experience managing large real estate portfolios
