As the Rehabilitation Coordinator you will be responsible and accountable for the appropriate completion and analysis of the Uniform Data System/Preferred Payment System ( UDS/PPS ) process on the Center for Rehabilitation and to ensure timely filings to governmental agencies to facilitate optimal reimbursement.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the timely and appropriate completion of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility-Patient Assessment Instrument ( IRF-PAI ) form for inpatients on the Center for Rehabilitation
  • Ensures that information collected on Uniform Data System is correct
  • Reviews admission data for complete and appropriate documentation
  • Audits charts to ensure that scoring on Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility-Patient Assessment Instrument ( IRF-PAI ) is corroborated by documentation in medical record
  • Assists in providing education, training and assessment for Quality Indicators certification
  • Participates in the analysis of Uniform Data System (/Quality Indicators ) data and performance improvement initiatives based on data results
  • Performs analysis on and produces periodic reports on Uniform Data System (/Quality Indicators ) data as requested
  • Maintains current working knowledge of Preferred Payment System ( PPS ) regulations and reimbursement systems
  • Assists with EMR modifications related to IRF-PAI revisions
  • Collects and tracks data relative to CARF standards
  • Assists with CARF analyses including written documentation
  • Ensures that data and analyses are completed in required timeframes
  • Collaborates with leadership to promote performance improvement on the rehab unit
  • Participates on unit performance improvement projects when appropriate

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapy
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing or Therapeutic Recreation Therapy
  • Minimum of three (3) years clinical rehabilitation experience
  • QI Credentialing Exam required within 90 days of hire if not already completed
  • For RNs, CRRN certification preferred
