Job Description

Join Optum as a Senior Operational Risk Analyst to impact health outcomes by managing operational risks within a diverse and inclusive culture. This role involves assessing and mitigating risks across various business functions, supporting the execution of Operational Risk programs, and developing robust reporting and metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) Program
  • Work with different teams to implement process diagrams for functions and design key operation risks
  • Develop reporting for internal use and governance committees
  • Participate in the collection of Key Performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Manage the quality of data reported via RCSAs and KPIs
  • Facilitate the RCSA review and challenge process quarterly
  • Assist with special projects to enhance the Operational Risk Management Framework
  • Review and evaluate new business initiatives to identify changes to operational risk profile
  • Maintain a complete risk mapping of operational processes
  • Develop day-to-day risk management metrics
  • Assist in developing a robust Vendor Risk framework and conduct vendor risk assessments
  • Analyze collected information to assess overall risk profile of Third Parties
  • Report on Vendor risk across various dimensions

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of direct work experience preferably within Operational Risk Management (RCSA)
  • 5+ years of second-line frameworks related to Operational Risk Management
  • Banking Industry experience required
  • Ability to be on-site (Draper, Utah)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of Operational Risk Management experience
  • 3+ years of Vendor Management Assessment
  • 2+ years of Archer or eGRC experience
  • Experience contributing to development of materials and reports for senior and executive level management
  • Thorough understanding of policies and best practices of risk management (certifications)
  • Proven relationship management skills including managing and engaging stakeholders, customers, and vendors
  • Proven solid organizational skills, with proven ability to successfully manage multiple, concurrent priorities
  • Proven detail oriented with proven ability to question the status quo and apply effective challenge as appropriate
