Job Description
Compensation: The anticipated hiring range for this position is $75,000-85,000 DOE. MMHSS also offers a comprehensive benefits packages including health/dental/vision insurance for employees and dependents, a 403(b) program, short-term disability, life insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, flexible working arrangements, and eligibility for student loan forgiveness.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of 3 years in financial and operations management. Two to three years of accounting experience preferred and/or 3 years in business management, Human Resources or supervisory experience.

Reporting to the CEO, the Operations Director leads a crack team of highly skilled professionals and is responsible for monitoring, planning, and supervising the day-to-day financial and business operations of MMHSS. Primary duties include overseeing finance, property management, IT, and human resources. The Operations Director is a member of the senior leadership team.
Required Qualifications:A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or management .
As such, we are looking for candidates with a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or management, and significant experience in financial reporting. More importantly, we want to hire the best candidates, so if you didn’t go to college but have substantial management-level work experience in finance, we will consider it in lieu of academic qualifications. Nonprofit financial experience is a plus.
Required Experience: This is a senior leadership position, and a minimum of three years in financial and operations management is required. Additional experience in business management and Human Resources is needed, and supervisory experience is a must.
Skills/Abilities: Are you a strategic thinker who knows how to leverage financial analysis to drive organizational effectiveness and impact? You should have an depth of knowledge of business functions, be technology savvy, and bring to the job extensive knowledge of accounting and financial reporting. Do you understand how to leverage technology like QuickBooks, as well as payroll and HR management systems? In collaboration with the CEO, provide strategic leadership to the Board of Directors to build the financial capacity necessary to sustain operations and drive organizational growth.
Provide management and execution of complex financial transactions, including preparation of the monthly financial reports in compliance with contracts, grants, pilot programs, State and Federal programs, and the MMHSS Board of Directors.
Work cooperatively with the Board Treasurer in reporting the financial status of the Shelter to the Board.
Grant reconciliation and reporting.
Cash flow and forecasting.
Oversee the Accounting Manager who executes payroll, accounts receivable and payable, as well as the reconciliation of various accounts and internal controls.
Prepare the MMHSS budget and adapt the organization budget for use in grant applications/proposals.
Execute and manage functional/program budgets and data analysis for reports for Chief Executive Officer.
Supervise the maintenance, organization, and storage of Shelter financial records.
Oversee the Operations Administrator who is responsible for vendor and property management.
Supervise the Maintenance Coordinator who coordinates maintenance, building repairs, and improvements at all locations.
Oversee the HR Administrator and develop HR policies in accordance with changes to relevant laws and emerging best practices. Oversee the integrity of the HR management system.
