Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as an Optometric Assistant, where you'll play a crucial role in patient care. In a collaborative environment, you'll assist with various medical procedures, manage patient interactions, and ensure compliance with health standards.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from the exam room and complete patient intake
Clean and straighten exam rooms between patients
Prepare syringes and administer injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare and route pathology and lab specimens
Respond to patient questions in office and via phone
Schedule and re-schedule appointments
Comply with OSHA and HIPAA standards
Maintain medication samples and discard out-of-date supplies
Train other employees as required
Assist with check-in or check-out procedures at the front desk
Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
At least one year of medical assisting experience (preferred)
Ability to lift at least 15 pounds
Prolonged standing ability (up to an hour at a time)
Professionalism and strong customer service skills
Effective communication with doctors and patients
