Job Description

Join ChanceLight Behavioral Health as a Special Education Teacher and empower students with diverse learning needs. You'll lead the instructional process, creating personalized learning experiences and collaborating with a dynamic team to enhance student growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the instructional process for students with IEPs.
  • Create an inclusive and collaborative classroom environment.
  • Implement school-wide and classroom-specific PBIS strategies.
  • Track and document student progress.
  • Deliver differentiated instruction in a co-teaching environment.
  • Adapt curricular content to accommodate diverse learning needs.
  • Utilize innovative curriculum resources and educational software.
  • Manage student caseload responsibilities including IEPs.
  • Prepare detailed lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Pursue ongoing professional growth.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education or a closely related field of study.
  • Meet all state teaching license and/or certification requirements.
  • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a state special education credential.
  • Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction in a classroom setting.
  • Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance.
  • Prior experience working with students with individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Proven success in developing and implementing effective education plans.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think and act quickly in emergencies.
  • Knowledge of relevant technology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Autism and Emotional Disturbance.
  • Crisis Intervention skills.
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavior Intervention and Support.
  • Skills in Personalized Instruction and Curriculum Development.
  • Strong Classroom Management and Interpersonal Skills.
