Job Description
Join Optum as a Senior Patient Care Coordinator to enhance patient experiences in breast and diagnostic imaging. You'll manage scheduling and logistics while collaborating with care teams to improve health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
First point of contact for patients, setting a positive experience
Exhibits empathy, courtesy, competence, efficiency, and care
Schedules appointments and procedures following standard guidelines
Uses multiple computer and phone systems to fulfill patient needs
Verifies patient information and documents in Electronic Health Record (EPIC)
Advises patients on insurance and referral responsibilities
Checks in patients for breast and diagnostic imaging
Answers phones for imaging departments
Makes outgoing calls from a phone queue
Reschedules patients as needed
Handles film library duties including image requests
Travels for coverage at other locations as needed
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
2+ years of customer service experience
1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting or medical field
Willing and able to travel to multiple locations for coverage
Reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
EMR (Electronic Medical Record) experience
Knowledge/understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding
Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
