Avera Behavioral Health Center-Sioux Falls Work Shift: Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (United States of America) The pay range for this position is listed below. This RN position may be eligible for a Sign On Bonus up to $15,000 Why is Behavioral Health important? The Avera Behavioral Health Adolescent & Child Units are designed to be a structured and age-appropriate therapeutic environment for adolescents and children to learn to understand problems, use healthy coping skills and set and complete goals. You will enjoy this Behavioral Health setting if you are Nurse that: Enjoys working with children ages 5 to 12 years old and adolescent ages 13 to 17 years old as well as their families. Has a passion helping patients with conditions such as Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Addiction or Suicidal behavior. Appreciates an active, challenging care environment that requires critical thinking. Values autonomous professional nursing practice. Possesses motivation to help create and deliver high-quality patient care in an energizing team environment. Unit Highlights: Cross Trained to work in the Adolescent Program and Child Program Adolescent program is a 40 bed unit Child program is a 14 bed unit Opportunity to change lives of both Adolescents and Children The LPN practices under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, licensed physician, or other health care provider. The LPN organizes and directs those aspects of care for which he/she is accountable; communicating and coordinating care with well-defined nursing diagnoses, including all health team members. Licensure Requirements for LPN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Board of Nursing Be part of a multidisciplinary team built with compassion and the goal of Moving Health Forward for you and our patients. Delivers Nursing Care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to understand patient conditions, medications, and self-care skills; re-evaluating care objectives. Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions; communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team; coordinating with other healthcare providers; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends; conferring with physicians. Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; documenting patient physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors; developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions, schedules, and timetables. Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals; instructing patient, family, and friends to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; Evaluates patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care standards; re-evaluating care objectives; modifying nursing care plan. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations; adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keeps patient care equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; Keeps patient care supplies ready by checking stock; stocking items. Maintains competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership.
