Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert, compassionate care to patients in the Cardiac Surgery ICU, step-down unit, and floor settings
  • Manage preoperative and postoperative care for cardiac surgery patients
  • Perform bedside procedures including central venous and arterial line placement
  • Provide care for patients undergoing advanced procedures like heart transplants and ECMO
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Provide patient and family education regarding surgical processes and recovery

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (APRN)
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in Cardiac Surgery, critical care, or surgical settings (preferred)
  • Eligible for licensure in Connecticut
  • Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Commitment to patient and team-focused care
