Other Details: A locum physical medicine and rehabilitation physician is needed for PRN coverage with a flexible schedule, ideally covering 4 8 days per month. The day shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with low-volume night calls from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and minimal callback. The physician will serve as the attending for adult inpatient rehabilitation patients, as there is typically no hospitalist coverage, and consults are placed for medically complex cases with access to standard hospital specialties. The unit has a maximum of 14 beds with an average census of patients and typically 1 2 admissions or discharges per day. The patient mix consists of approximately 33% sports/orthopedic rehabilitation, 50% CNS rehabilitation, and 17% medical rehabilitation, with an average caseload of 14 patients daily. The locum will not supervise other healthcare providers, and no other PM&R physicians will be present during coverage. Onsite resources include 14 exam rooms and X-ray services, and the facility is a 300-bed hospital with a level 3 trauma designation and standard referral protocols. Sub-acute rehabilitation experience is required.
