Job Description

Join ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, supporting a dedicated team to deliver high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. Lead with compassion and ensure optimal patient care while mentoring other veterinarians in a supportive and impactful environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at veterinary clinics
  • Train veterinarians in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter techniques
  • Support a positive work culture through regular 1:1s and performance evaluations
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality spay/neuter procedures
  • Provide quality preventive and basic care to patients
  • Schedule staff veterinarians and ensure optimal coverage

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
  • Fear FreeĀ® Shelter certification within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
