Key Responsibilities
Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Texas Nursing Practice Act, focusing on oncology patients with blood cancer and disorders.
Determine health status and needs of patients through health data interpretation and preventive practice.
Utilize a systematic approach to provide individualized nursing care.
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments.
Formulate nursing care plans based on nursing diagnoses.
Implement nursing care within the RN’s scope of practice.
Develop and implement teaching plans for patient health promotion and maintenance.
Required Qualifications
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date)
Basic Cardiac Life Support Required
Registered Nurse
ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate Provider (must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date)
Bachelor's Degree (Required within 24 months of hire into RN position)
Recent/Current Acute Care experience in a Hospital Setting
Previous experience in Oncology, BMT, Critical Care, ICU or PCU
