Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Smyrna, TN 37167 – Prime opportunity for Tennessee nursing jobs in a growing suburb just outside Nashville, known for its friendly community and beautiful parks.
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nurse contract
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1530-$1640
• Unit: Medical-Surgical / Ortho-Spine (54 beds, including 11 dedicated ortho/spine beds)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6 for Registered Nurses
• Scheduling: At least one weekend per 4-week period; flexible scheduling options available

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent time management and communication abilities
• Ability to adapt quickly and work collaboratively in a healthcare team
• Grey scrubs required

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical, orthopedic, spine, trauma, and psych medical hold patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments, develop care plans, and implement nursing interventions
• Utilize advanced clinical equipment: Alaris pumps, remote telemetry, wound vacs, and specialty beds
• Document patient care using Meditech EMR system
• Collaborate with RN/LPN teams, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and other healthcare professionals
• Float within the Med/Surg unit as needed
• Participate in continuous improvement and uphold high standards for patient experience
