Position Requirements
- Current State Specific REGISTERED NURSE (RN) License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
- Minimum of two years of PCU OR Stepdown REGISTERED NURSE (RN) work experience
Job Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to medically complex patients requiring extended hospital-level care.
- Manage ventilator-dependent patients, perform tracheostomy care, and assist with ventilator weaning protocols.
- Administer IV medications, enteral feedings, blood products, and other therapies as ordered.
- Monitor patients with central lines, PICC lines, arterial lines, and other invasive devices.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and update individualized care plans regularly.
- Manage complex wound care, including negative pressure wound therapy (wound vacs) and dressing changes.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, dietitians, and rehabilitation staff to support patient recovery and optimize outcomes.
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning.
- Respond to emergencies and changes in patient status, initiating appropriate interventions.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Support infection control protocols and ensure a safe patient care environment.
- Provide end-of-life care and support to patients and families when appropriate.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs, CNAs, and other support staff to ensure coordinated care.
