Job Description
Join Backus Hospital as an Assistant Nurse Manager in the Inpatient Psychiatric unit, where you will lead a dedicated team in providing exceptional patient care while fostering a supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Directs the work to ensure patient movement through the department
Assigns patient care activities and ensures staff qualifications
Monitors and maintains staff performance
Facilitates challenging situations
Role models excellent attendance and positive communication
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field
2 years of experience as RN in psychiatric behavioral health unit
6 months experience as Charge Nurse or supervisory experience
Current Connecticut License as a Registered Nurse
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in health-related or business field
3 or more years of experience as RN in psychiatric behavioral health unit
12 months experience as Charge Nurse or supervisory experience
Leadership experience
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Certification in clinical area
