--- Unit: ICU

- # beds: They are licensed for 44 beds but they are currently using 36

- Certs: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required, CCRN preferred

- Ratios: 1:2 or 1:1

- EMR: Cerner Power chart

- Charge Nurse: yes - they do not take a patient assignment

- Nurse Aides: No nurse aides but they do have a unit tech that does secretary duties, equipment duties, etc.

- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, Fri, Sat, Sun (for both days and nights)

- Holidays: Yes- work them in with perm staff rotation - that is when they are needed most so travelers should expect to work holidays

- Scrub Color: Navy Blue

- Drips: Vasopressors, Nitro, Heparin, etc.

- Vents: Yes

- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes - they are in house 24/7 Sound Physician group

- IV Team: No

- RT 24/7: Yes

- Pharmacy 24/7: Yes

- Shifts: /hr shifts, no self scheduling

- Floating: Yes- to Tele & ER for ICU Holds

- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: (PACU patients will go directly to ICU) Cardiac, PCI, Open Heart, Sepsis, ETOH, Stroke, CABG, stents, balloon pumps, cath lab ( some- most of them will recover on the DOU unit), craniotomies, travlers are not assigned fresh open heart or crani's - they do not have to have experience in that area, general medical surgical ICU nurses are needed, 3 years minimum experience, unless coming from a big institution with 2+ years’ experience, prior travel experience preferred
