Key Responsibilities
Determine methods, sequence, equipment, and tools required to perform rework and repair of precision machined parts installed in completed aircraft assemblies
Interpret prints, documents, sketches, specifications, and verbal information to guide repair processes
Disassemble, finish, fit, check, and assemble parts and assemblies
Use precision measuring instruments to derive required measurements from parts and assemblies
Lead and support lower classification employees
Ensure correct part numbers and quantities are issued
Operate mechanical lifts to move materials safely
Fabricate detail parts from raw stock and design custom drills and reamers
Apply sealants, alodine, primer, and adhesives as required
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials safely
Required Qualifications
Experience interpreting and working from blueprints, sketches, and written and verbal instructions in English
5+ years of experience in setting and using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and/or dial indicators
Willingness and ability to work in confined spaces
5+ years of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications
5+ years of experience using math that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions
3+ years of experience in a machine or aviation shop environment
1+ years of experience operating manual mill and manual lathe machines
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of experience in aircraft, automotive or ship re-work (including but not limited to: metals, bearings, bushings, composites)
